This wasp really is a hornet. Either asian or european. Even wasps and hornets serve an essential function to fruiting and flowering plants. As they travel from plant to plant hornets also pollinate the flowers. Like many other insects they are crucial for every year's growing cycle, plant diversity and the food chain.
